Volt Mixer Guide Open the mixer

Your mix

Volt Mixer remembers your faders on each computer, and sends them to the Volt when it connects. The first time on a computer, you choose where they start.

Who remembers what

The Volt remembers most of its own settings, but it can’t tell a computer where its faders are. So each computer keeps a copy of those, like UAD Console does.

The Volt remembers

  • 48V, gain and tone
  • Mutes on Inputs 1–4
  • Which pairs are linked
  • Speaker and headphone levels
  • Clip Protection, brightness and digital input

Each computer remembers

  • Channel faders and pans
  • Headphone mixes (cue sends)
  • Solo
  • What the headphones and Line Out 3/4 play
  • Channel names and icons

Anything you change on the Volt itself, like a knob or the 48V button, shows on the page straight away.

Start a mix

The first time on a computer, a welcome panel asks where to start (see it in Getting started):

  • Start a new mix: every channel at 0 dB, like a new UAD Console session.
  • Bring my mix: paste a link from another computer, or open it on this one. See Other computers.

You’ll see this again after Forget mix.

Note: Why it asks

A new mix sets every channel to 0 dB, which could turn up a channel you keep quiet. So the faders stay locked until you choose. The Volt’s own settings, like 48V, gain and the output levels, work straight away.

Send it again, or start over

Both are in Settings › Your mix.

  • Apply sends this computer’s mix to the Volt again, for example after UAD Console changed it.
  • Forget removes this computer’s mix and locks the faders until you choose again. The Volt keeps playing what it has.

Your mix is saved as you go, on this computer only. Two Volts keep two separate mixes.
